Tau is a friendly little web applications who has been tasked with making it easier for a firewall administrator to create large numbers of 'address objects' without having to key them all into the GUI/CLI one by one.
Once provided with data, he will generate a number of different scripts for different firewall platforms that you should copy and paste into the CLI of your device. As if by magic, your objects will appear in the GUI for you to use in your polcies. Tau's output allows the placing of all the created objects into group (optionally - ScreenOS only) and also allows the inclusion of a change reference number in all of the objects you created (again optional). Last, but not least, Tau will produce an 'Undo Script' you can use to remove the configuration changes if you find you made an error.
All fields below are standard fields that accept letters, numbers, spaces, periods, underscores, and dashes. Of course use your brain, zone names cannot spaces for example. The Object Definition field is special in that it expects a tab delimited list which is just simply perfect for copying and pasting from a spreadsheet (works great from Excel and iWork Numbers) straight into the field. This is by design so that you can put together your list in which ever tool is more comfortable. Oh and don't forget the newline on the final line else Tau's parser will report invalid input state.
Once you've completed the fields, click submit and Tau will provide the ScreenOS Script for you. The fields are already populated with a fully working example
Tau is there as a convenience to you, nothing more. If you choose to use Tau's output on a device, it's your responsibility to ensure the correctness of the output. Tau and his author can accept no responsibility for any loss or damages that may occure.
